We’re Australia’s largest carbon neutral organisation

How we’re minimising our environmental impact

We’re reaching for our climate goals with Telstra being recognised as Australia’s largest certified carbon neutral organisation since July 2020 under the Climate Active scheme. We also have a growing ambition to reduce our environmental impact with:  

100% renewable energy generation

By 2025, we aim to enable 100% renewable energy generation equivalent to our consumption. We’ve invested in three solar and wind farms which will create enough energy to power 125,000 households.  

50% reduction of emissions

By 2030, we aim to achieve a minimum 50% reduction of absolute emissions. We’ve also set a target to reduce emissions from our customers with more energy-efficient products such as modems.  

Recycling program

Our program recycles nearly 5,000 tonnes of e-waste per year. And we’re committed to all recycled material packaging by 2022.
